The gloomy fact

Do you fall in love? Scientists analyzed the brain whose fell in love to know why they feel good when they love by MRY. In conclusion, scientists found out that three part of the brain have a brisk response. One is the area of ventral tegmental that is down part of the brain. Here, it makes dopamine a kind of hormone. The reason why the delicious cooking smell makes our mouth water is that dopamine is activating. However, if only ventral tegmental activates, you can not continue to love. Also, it is problem to find new love only in ecstasies by dopamine. Therefore there is the nucleus accmbens that prevents you from bing with rapture and is a little front of upper part of ventral tegmental. This tingling feeling that originates from ventral tegmental delivers over here, at that time serotonin and oxytocin kinds of hormone have a response together and stimultaneously of the two, oxytocin plays the key role to bind firmly. In brain, the last settlement of the feeling love is caudate ...

Cognitive dissonance

The term 'Cognitive dissonance' was created by Leon Festinger, a social psychologist and professor, in 1957. He infiltrated into an eschatological religious group which were waiting for doomsday caused by 'Great flood'. They seemed to trust in a leader's direction sincererly. However, the last day supposed to perish didn't come. Festinger expected believers to get angry against their head of the group. But followers didn't show a wrath against the leader rather than they were relieved with no happening. Festinger recognized that human beings usually are skillful to deceive themselves to expel from unpleasant, irrational experience. To speak, we can't put up with our being weak or shabby enough to be hurted by other people and specific situaltions. On the contrary, we want to give an excuse not to violent against normal social system and strongly deny our wrong behavior or belief. It is really convenient system for our mental health. We are ready to defen...

He declares 'God is not great'

Born in UK, Christopher Hitchens, 56, was chosen as the 5th most world-wide intellectual by professional readers conducted by 2 political and diplomatic magazines last year. He is following Noam Chomsky, Umberto Eco, Richard Dawkins and Vaclav Havel. He has been staying in America since 1980s and writing columns titling 'Minority Report' in 'The Nations'. He became generally known for the author of 'Hostage to History', 'For the Sake of Argument', 'The Missionary Position' and so on. Recently, he is also acknowledged politically being a sort of 'Neocon', after continuously criticizing left-wing of Anglo-America and Islamic fundamentalism. I am reading his book 'God is not Great', dealing with lots of gods and godness all over the world since the prehistoric age. Of cource, he mainly focuses on 2 big powers, 'Christianity' and 'Islam'. As an atheist and meterialist together with Richard Dawkins( Actually, I am sure...

Find your flow

Does immersion lead us to better life? Csikszentmihalyi, the author of 'finding flow', says that's right. People usually think superficially that we would be happy when we are provided with enough time and money. However I would feel ill at easy even when I listen to music, read books or take a trip, theraphies which are generally advised to busy persons. I know the reason why. The reason is because I do not like those activities much . On the contrary, I feel worthless on myself when I just spend my time on passive fields and consuming jobs. Some people wish spare time to kill much more than now since they suffer from short time and hard work. Probably, they would be satisfied for hours or even days. However, sometimes, we get lost ourselves in the middle of complicated intersections, not figuring out where the right direction is. Everyone put their own gravity or importance on a different scale. Each one has so various capacity or size as to emphasize on different concept...

A gem in our life

Did I have a gem in my life? Sadly speaking, I didn't. Since I was a young girl, I've never had a dream to do. I just have ambiguously tried to survive in this world for myself. Life seemed to vague and translucent. I am always in want of more ability to make friends and keep up with the trend. The reason why I felt so impressed by Michelangelo Antonioni's movies is due to their emptiness and desolation. On watching them, I came to know, unconciously, at once that he was depicting my own stories. I must have lacked a gene to love someone and to be loved by others like main characters in these movies. Regardless of being old, I become enchanted with many things differently from Confucius who announced the free from vacilation at the age of 40. On the contray, I'd rather enjoy my being tempted by men, friends, art, music and so on. Recently, I like one man who gives the special inspiration beside himself. He is unique, full of passion and a little bit out of his mind. And...

Gauss's theorem

Sometimes, the principle of ecosystem extends to the object-economy theory. Gauss's theorem is a representative strategy of competition which borrows the fundamental truth within ecosystem . Today, I will give you an explanation about Gauss's theorem. Gauss, a Russian scientist, conducted two experiments. First, he put two animals in same space whose family was same but species were different. Their nest was conditioned to have insufficient food. He observed what would be going on inside the small room. Despite occasional quarreling, two animals managed to survive, sharing short meal. Second, he performed an identical test of same family and same species. However the result was completely different. They fought severely and knocked to death each other. Gauss called this phenomenon the survival principal by differentiation. The more similar they are, the more they fight. Consequently, being alike demands intensive competition among contestants. For additional knowledge, there is...

The nature of cooperation

Yesterday night, a friend told that people usually cooperate well with an new comer or unfamiliar person rather than an intimate neighbor. It reminded me of one Korean proverb : I am jealous of neighbor´s success or An envious man waxes with the fatness of his neighbor. The more we appreciate these witty remarks, the more we are disappointed with selfishness of human being. So, some people tend to be pessimistic about a cooperative attitude between A & B. If we always have a competitive spirit to the core, is cooperating just false? Another friend had an answer. His view point is very clear and accurate. He announced that we should accept the jealousy within people. However, since we are based on a sense of selfishness, we try to maintain the peaceful achievement. Because,we do not want to harm the job or the relationship we are related to. And he said it will open the way to a cooperation. I think second friend also took a gloomy view about people. But he has an ability to transfo...
