'I believe in love'

This year, the Lee sang short story Award fell on Yeuseun Guen who wrote ' I believe in Love'. We can also taste other's short stories through 'representative works of the Lee sang Literature award' which was made to be in memory of Lee Sang since 1971. This omnibus book has Korean readers paid attention to its laureats and candidates every new year.

Yeuseun Guen who was born in 1965, belongs to 386 generation, lost her beloved friend in the vortex of political resistance 1n 1980s have shown the very meaningful writing recently. The recipient's style was regarded as being cynical, sharp and violent, in spite of having polite access to her object. She disguised not to be interested in everything. She steals a walk on an observed person and let us hear bitten and sour stories.

I guess she believes in love. Her characters in this story are seemingly doubtful of desirable humane relationship. We usually go against with each other, even if there are lots of things in our mind to speak out toward 'you'. One experiences heart broken love affairs very often, while the other never goes through it in his life. We do not know who is luckier. After passing through big wave, we used to recognize of what we had just before. We know this world is filled with more sorrowful and painful stories which would make the broken love trivial. So, she seems to be sorry for referring to love. However, I'm sure that she trusts in love paradoxically despite her outward rejection.

As a common reader, I'd like to follow her trajectory path which I get accustomed to in the post modern society where most traditional values are considered as just being light. However, I always miss the fine hearted.
